I’m making some robot toys for the Robert Kaufman spring quilt market booth. They’re completely inspired by Ann Kelle’s Funbot fabric. And BOY ARE THEY FUN! This boy gets bonkers everything he gets to help play with them as I make them. They completely bring out his inner silly. (His #amineko, Green, is in for the fun too) He thinks we need to make another one that’s even BIGGER. So that’s what i’ll be doing tonight.: ) With his “help” stuffing. Of...

I <3 Carrie Bloomston (a COLLAGE party)

*Giveaway closed, Random Number Generator chose 3 winners, (53, 3, 39)* Thanks for participating! Do you know Carrie? I met her a few years ago at the Long Beach Quilt Show, while walking around, shopping, with my friends, Jules and Tess.  Carrie is AWESOME (and so is her mother). We were drawn into the SUCH Designs booth, and gabbed for hours, and felt like we’d known each other for years. She’s so warm and friendly and wonderful, she probably makes everyone feel as welcomed and loved as we felt, but we certainly left feeling special.  We STILL feel special to be friends with...

I whipped out a tablet cover/case/pouch-thing sleeve for C to take on a trip. 30 minutes, including quilting! I’m super lazy though, so I didn’t change the white bobbin thread to match the black top thread. I actually think the white flecks are my favorite part. I’ve been hoarding this fabric for years, (originally purchased to make him camera straps, but he said he didn’t want straps), so I’m thrilled I finally got to use it! It’s lined with flannel to keep the screen...

Another 2ball knitting bag (this one for my friend Liberty) A fold-over purse, (is it a clutch if it has a handle? Mostly copied from my friend Natalie’s awesome bag) is my new favorite make. A shirt for C. Fabric is a yummy flannel from DryGoodsDesign, pattern is a Vogue pattern. Made it with short sleeves to test the fit. C has the worlds biggest shoulders, so I’ll have to grade up the chest/shoulders before I make another. The Vogue shirt got buttons within 24 hours of being made, unlike this one, which sat, WITH BUTTONHOLES, for 2 years, awaiting only buttons. Lucky C...

ROAR for Crockett

Posted by on Feb 8, 2013 in babies, boys, fabric, Finished Projects, finished quilts, kids, Quilting, Robert Kaufman | 1 comment

I need to wash and dry this puppy so I can get good crinkly shots of it, but it’s useable now, which is why it’s in use on the floor this very moment. Crockett likes it. Midnight likes it. I like it. YAY ROAR!
