With a Twist.
The pattern is called With a Twist… can’t remember the name of the fabrics, but they were all batiks, in a roll-up. I used the scraps to make this dress for the Bean. she loves it because it has pockets, (obvi), but also because the batik is a GREAT weight for summer dresses. what is it about cats and quilts, btw? the cats will be sleeping in the house, but if I sneak out to take a pic on the lawn, they wake and race out to walk across/plop-on the quilt...

I’m trying to knock stuff off my to-do list (so that I can justify adding to it!) first up was this found quilt top… I used leftovers from the new Lazy Daisy Baskets line, by Darlene Zimmerman, with this cute Mother Goose panel… I like the back better than the front…. …probably because the front has this CREEPY naked baby print. Not sure what I was thinking (actually, I’m pretty sure I was just trying to use it up) It’s quilted with a square spiral radiating from the center, and it’s bound in leftovers from the back, and even the batting was...
Read MoreOverwhelmed by WIP’s Wednesday…
I had to take a blood test at the Dr this morning, and took some quilty books to look at while waiting for the hour to pass… As I did so, I reminded myself that I have several unfinished projects… I made a list… this is stuff that’s already been cut/started (but just fabric/yarn purchased/saved doesn’t count) it’s a little overwhelming, and on top of the fact that I failed my glucose test, (and therefore have to go back sometime soon for the 4 hour test, which is HORRIBLE), I’m feeling a little overwhelmed (or maybe just whelmed, since it means the...

I don’t know what these are called…. But I made 3 of them last night in well under an hour. They sell them at target (UGLY) for $11/pair. I like mine better, (and so do the kiddos) I just grabbed scraps out of my scrap bin for the squares, and the binding from binding scraps…. (wish I knew where that yellow dot was from. LOVE it. and only had 1 little strip of it.) this grey Kona coal is left over from a table runner I made last week…. helicopter fabric matches pants they each have…. she approved… she was the one who wanted them, so I’m glad she...

This was one of the last minute quilts made for the RK booth… I got the fabric the week of market, so I had to design, piece, quilt and bind in a single day. This adorable fabric is called Little Kukla (which autocorrects to Killa on an iphone, hence the title of this post). I pieced it with leftover bits of Curry, Aloe, and Coral. I only had a fat quarter of each print. I used up almost every little bit on the back (which is mostly Coral, obvi) and bound it in Curry. I just stitched in the ditch all around the front, really quickly… The Bean LOVED the prints, and I will have to...

My poor husband often pulls all-nighters at his office, witha quick 3-am power nap…. I decided he needed a small (throw?) quilt to cuddle into when he was too exhausted to drive home…. so here it is: it’s like 60×70 ish, maybe (I haven’t measured), and made from all fabric on hand (except the green, which is Kona Avocado) The centers are from a charm pack of Silent Cinema that I won, and couldn’t figure out how to use, and the Kona Turquoise is left over from various RK projects. I wanted to use Kona Coal for the binding, but didn’t have any, so I...
