Double -ended zippered bag
D needed a pencil bag, and was told to put pencils, erasers, and markers in them. I had this idea to make a bag that’s double ended, but searching on the internet for “double-ended bag” or pouch or anything double-ended only produces boxing results…. I’m not sure if I just don’t know the right search terms, or what, but I couldn’t find any tutorials or patterns or images of what I wanted, so I took a deep breath, grabbed some scrap fabric, and tried out my idea…. it worked! (this is the second one, of nice fabrics. the proportions were...

working the kinks out of another dress idea… this is the second attempt. the first went prefectly, but I had no pattern, and didn’t write anything down… recreating is always harder than just winging it… luckily, she’s cute no matter what. fabric is RK pomegranate and some soon-to be released hearts (scraps from when I worked on this quilt). The fabric totally makes this not-quite-perfect version A-OK in her...

I’m trying to knock stuff off my to-do list (so that I can justify adding to it!) first up was this found quilt top… I used leftovers from the new Lazy Daisy Baskets line, by Darlene Zimmerman, with this cute Mother Goose panel… I like the back better than the front…. …probably because the front has this CREEPY naked baby print. Not sure what I was thinking (actually, I’m pretty sure I was just trying to use it up) It’s quilted with a square spiral radiating from the center, and it’s bound in leftovers from the back, and even the batting was...

I had to take a blood test at the Dr this morning, and took some quilty books to look at while waiting for the hour to pass… As I did so, I reminded myself that I have several unfinished projects… I made a list… this is stuff that’s already been cut/started (but just fabric/yarn purchased/saved doesn’t count) it’s a little overwhelming, and on top of the fact that I failed my glucose test, (and therefore have to go back sometime soon for the 4 hour test, which is HORRIBLE), I’m feeling a little overwhelmed (or maybe just whelmed, since it means the...

I made this super awesome dress for the Bean, using a vintage pattern…. (sorta. I mean, I copied a vintage pattern but used her sloper) anyway, to make the grey a little more girlie, I embroidered some flowers. And the old magenta floss I used bled all...
